Until the 2020 tornado, Holly and Tim’s garden was mostly a shade garden with stone terracing to control erosion on their steeply sloping property and featuring a wide variety of shade-loving perennials. When the tornado knocked down five mature trees, the garden was suddenly placed into full sun requiring a complete renewal. Responding to this change necessitated a lot of work not only moving existing plantings but also acquiring and introducing new sun loving perennials into the landscape. Reflecting Holly’s preference for flowering perennials and shrubs, there is something in bloom all year round in her garden. In June, visitors will find Hydrangeas, Canna Lilies, Black-eyed Susans, Cone flowers, Daylilies, Dahlias and more.
