Sponsored by the North American Butterfly Association-Tennessee Valley Chapter, the Butterfly Nursery at Audubon Acres consists of three raised beds brimming with an array of host plants for our native butterflies— one dedicated specifically to the monarch butterfly. Established in 2022, this garden has become an inspiration station for our forest pre-k/kindergarten classes, Audubon Academy students, teachers, and visitors. We aim to expand this teaching tool by restoring our current undeveloped meadow into a colorful pollinator meadow. Don’t forget to see the insect hotel in front of the welcome center—created by the first female Eagle Scout in the Chattanooga area.
