Formal and Wooded Garden
Working with Scott Drucker Landscape Design, this couple wanted to create a peaceful oasis surrounding their vintage 1936-built home. The goal was to create a flow of garden rooms focusing on privacy, serenity, and simplicity through repetition of color and design that allowed for different areas to relax and entertain. The result is a landscaped yard that is slightly more formal at the front and more of a woodland in the back. In the front, privacy screening was created with blooming hydrangeas and paths lined with evergreen ferns along with flowering fruit trees and annuals for pops of color. In the back, stone steps lead to a shaded stone terrace surrounded by evergreen hedges using a variety of Boxwood and Laurels, varieties of oakleaf hydrangeas and other perennials. The area is accented by antique planters filled with colorful annuals.
