In the Summer of 1996 Jackie and Mitch moved into their gray box, colonial style home with a weed covered lawn, clay & chert sloped backyard, and no established gardening space. Ever since, Jackie has been working towards a country cottage feel and the garden of today is the 28-year culmination of that effort. The property is now a combination of garden beds, hardscapes, tiered growing space, and one of Jackie’s favorite places, her garden house that was added in 2012. Although primarily a shade garden on a sloped property with ferns, hosta, hydrangea, and salvia, Jackie has interspersed many other beds of annuals and perennials to view. Designed to incorporate the bulk of the property, stone paths meander from the front curb through and around the property, displaying picturesque scenes to enjoy as one strolls through the space.
