3rd Saturday Class: Worm Composting

September 20, 2025 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

For millions of years, worms have been hard at work breaking down organic materials and returning nutrients to the soil. Using worms to recycle food scraps and other organic material into a valuable soil amendment is called vermicompost or worm compost. Learn why worms have such an important place in our ecosystem and how our gardens can benefit with Robbie Summerour, Master Gardener and owner of Gospel Urban Farmer. Her presentation includes a live demonstration of the worm composting process from beginning to end. So, roll up your sleeves and be prepared to dive into playing with worms while finding out that raising worms for your garden can be fun and exciting!
