UT Plant of the Month – American Fringetree

American Fringetree (Chionanthus virginicus) shines in all its spring glory. This native tree is a showy plant in spring, transitions to a graceful green presence when leaves emerge and female fringetree even provide fruit for birds.
This elegant native tree with its beautiful, white, fleecy flowers blooms mid to late spring. The flower clusters are said to resemble an old man’s beard, which appropriately enough, is another common name for this species. For more information on this native plant CLICK HERE
