3rd Saturday Class: Fighting Invasive Plants

Master Gardener Don McKenzie will help you conquer your “fear of the unknown” by explaining, demystifying, and simplifying the use of herbicides as an indispensable tool for controlling invasive plants. Don brings his passion for encouraging others learn to eliminate invasive plants to help us act more effectively to tackle the many invasive plants that are threatening our yards, gardens, and natural spaces in southeast Tennessee. He will address herbicide safety concerns; provide a basic overview of the many types of herbicides; then focus on glyphosate as the overall safest, most versatile, and most effective herbicide for treating invasives. His presentation will conclude with several how-to examples for handling different invasive problems.

3rd Saturday Classes are held in person at the UT/TSU Hamilton County Extension (6183 Adamson Circle, off Bonny Oaks Drive in Chattanooga).
