University of Tennessee Extension Master Gardener Training Course offers extensive training in gardening. Classes are taught by the highest-quality, trained instructors using research-based information from the University of Tennessee.
The classes bring you the newest and most practical information available on topics related to home gardens and landscapes. Past topics have included: wildlife, basic landscaping, flowers, trees, lawns, insects, plant diseases, and many others.
There is a choice of evening or morning classes –
- The evening classes meet from 6 pm to 9 pm Monday nights, starting January 9th, 2017.
- The morning classes meet from 9 am to noon on Tuesday mornings, starting January 10th, 2017.
The classes meet for fifteen weeks, with graduation taking place in April.
The cost of the class is $170 which includes course materials and first year membership dues. The price for couples who will share materials is $270. A limited number of scholarships are available to persons who have a financial hardship to pay tuition. A deposit of $50 is required to hold your space in the program.
Applications for 2017 are now being accepted. The application can be found here. The deadline for returning applications to UT Extension is December 16, 2016.
