Master Gardener Class of 2014

The 2014 classes are full.   Applications for the 2015 Master Gardener of Hamilton County Class will be accepted starting in November 2014.  

University of Tennessee Extension Master Gardener Training Course offers extensive training in gardening. Classes are taught by the highest-quality, trained instructors using research-based information from the University of Tennessee.

The classes bring you the newest and most practical information available on topics related to home gardens and landscapes. Past topics have included: wildlife, basic landscaping, flowers, trees, lawns, insects, plant diseases, and many others.

There will be a choice of evening or morning classes

  • The evening classes meet from 6 pm to 9 pm Monday nights.
  • The morning classes meet from 9 am to noon on Tuesday mornings.

The classes meet for fifteen weeks, with graduation taking place in April.

The cost of the class is $165 which includes course materials and first year membership dues. The price for couples who will share materials is $265. A limited number of scholarships are available to persons who have a financial hardship to pay tuition. A deposit of $50 is required to hold your space in the program.

Applications for 2015 will be accepted beginning on November 1, 2014.
