Grandmother’s Garden Tea

The Master Gardeners of Hamilton County are excited to announce a new partnership with the Chattanooga Arboretum & Nature Center (CA&NC). MGHC will be very instrumental in the development of the cottage garden at the Humphreys House, called “The Grandmother’s Garden”.

Many years ago the matriarch of the Humphreys family had a cottage garden complete with heirloom plants. With the help of a well-known landscape architect, Jon Carloftis, a plan is being drawn up to create a garden inspired by these heirloom flower gardens.

As a fundraiser for this wonderful project, please join us at the Humphreys House for tea and chamber music. The Strawberry Tea promises savory sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, delightful little cakes, chocolate wrapped strawberries and lashings of hot tea. Enjoy a recital of harp and flute music performed by flautist, Kayoko Dan, CSO Conductor and harpist Caroline B. Hudson.

All proceeds from the Tea will go towards the creation of the Grandmother’s Garden. Tea will be served at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm. For ticket and registration information, go to the CA&NC website.
