MGHC Class of 2013

The application for the Master Gardener of Hamilton County Class for 2013 is now available.

University of Tennessee Extension will begin the yearly Master Gardener Training Course in January 2013. This course offers extensive training in gardening. Classes are taught by the highest-quality, trained instructors using research-based information from the University of Tennessee.

We are currently developing plans to bring you the newest and most practical information available on topics related to home gardens and landscapes. Past topics have included: wildlife, basic landscaping, flowers, trees, lawns, insects, plant diseases, and many others.

There will be a choice of evening or morning classes –

  • The evening classes meet from 6 pm to 9 pm Monday nights starting January 7, 2013 or
  • The morning classes meet from 9 am to noon on Tuesdays starting January 8, 2013.

The classes will meet for fifteen weeks, with graduation taking place in April. You must fill out and submit this application form by December 21, 2012.

The sign-up fee is $160 which includes course materials and first year membership dues. The price for couples who will share materials is $260. A limited number of scholarships are available to persons who would have a financial hardship to pay tuition.
