January Gardening Seminar

Winter is a great time for learning about gardening and getting inspiration for next year’s gardens.  Join us Tuesday evening, January 4, 2011 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Chattanooga State Community College’s Humanities Theatre for an evening of learning and garden fun with Carol Reese and Jason Reeves.  There is a suggested $5 minimum donation with all proceeds going to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Carol Reese, UT Extension Ornamental Horticulture Specialist is a nationally-known speaker, gardening and nature columnist for the Jackson Sun Times, and Q & A columnist for Horticulture Magazine.  Carol has a BS and MS in Horticulture from Mississippi State University and attributes her love of horticulture to being raised on a farm by generations of plant nuts.

Jason Reeves will talk about creative garden structures where “one man’s trash is another man’s trellis.”  He is a UT Extension Ornamental Horticulture Research Associate with Carol Reeves at UT’s West Tennessee Research and Education Center in Jackson and has a BS in Agriculture from UT – Martin and a MS in Ornamental Horticulture and Landscape Design from UTK.

Call the Hamilton County Extension Office at 423-855-6113 fro more information or stop by the office at 6138 Adamson Circle to purchase tickets in advance.  You can go here for a flyer.
