If you didn’t have a chance to start your fall vegetables or are ready to freshen up your flower garden, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank is offering a great opportunity to get your fall garden in gear. Now through when supplies last, you can stop by the Evelyn Davenport Navarre Teaching Garden each weekday morning (Monday through Friday) from 9:30 am to 11:30 am to buy a selection of winter hardy flowers and vegetables. The Teaching Garden is in the back of the Chattanooga Area Food Bank building, 2009 Curtain Pole Road, Chattanooga, just off of Amnicola Highway.
Winter hardy Flowers
Snapdragon, Foxglove, Violas, Pansies, Alyssum, Dianthus, Delphinium and Poppies. The prices are $2 for a 4″ pot, or $25 for a flat of 18 plants.
Winter Hardy Veggies
Carrots, Spinach, Broccoli, Cabbage, Pac Choi, Assorted lettuces, Arugula, Garlic, Kale, Collards, Mustard Greens, Purple Greens, Radish will be available while supplies last.
The price for vegetables are $2 for a 6 pack or $10 for a flat. Flats will contain as many as 36 seedlings, so it’s a great deal.
All proceeds from the sale go to fund the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, so it’s a great value and also a great way to support this valuable organization.
